The YMCA Diabetes Prevention Program - Available at Three Locations

The YMCA’s Diabetes Prevention Program is a 12-month evidence-based program designed to help those at risk of developing type 2 diabetes adopt and maintain healthy lifestyles. Research by the National Institutes of Health has shown that programs like the YMCA’s Diabetes Prevention Program can reduce the number of new cases of type 2 diabetes by 58% and 71%.

BayHealth Diabetes Support Group

Connecting through a support group can help patients manage diabetes and life more effectively. The diabetes educators at Bayhealth facilitate a support group for persons with diabetes, who join others in a non-judgmental atmosphere for an open discussion to give and receive both emotional and practical support. Patients should feel free to bring a support person (family or friend) with them. There is no charge. The group currently meets on the third Tuesday of the month from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Free Blood Pressure Screenings by Peninsula Home Care at Nanticoke  
Where: Bridgeville Senior Center - 414 Market St., Bridgeville, DE
When: 1st Monday of every month
Time: 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
Peninsula Home Care at Nanticoke offers free blood press screenings on the first Monday of each month from 9:30 am to 10:30 am at the Bridgeville Senior Center. For more information, call Peninsula Home Care at Nanticoke at 302-629-4914.

Beebe Health Care Diabetes Class

The Diabetes Management Department offers educational and management services for people with diabetes. Diabetes educational programs are offered three times each month for persons newly diagnosed and those who need a refresher course for managing their disease. A diabetes self- management education series is presented at various days and times on a rotating basis. Individual sessions are available for specific needs. A new insulin pump education program designed to help people with diabetes better manage their disease also is available. Nanticoke Center for Diabetes & Endocrinology

Nanticoke Memorial Hospital strives to improve access to care for patients. The Diabetes’s Education department is guided by endocrinologists. Nanticoke Health Services – The Diabetes Connection: You’re In Control
As a person with diabetes, Nanticoke Health Services can be part of your healthcare team to help teach you the self-care skills needed to keep you on track.
