Wilmington Heart Walk 2018
Where: 
Wilmington Riverfront Lot E, Wilmington, DE
When: Sunday, September 9, 2018
Time: 8:00 a.m. (registration opens), 9:00 a.m. (walk begins)

 Join the American Heart Association and more than 2,500 of your friends, neighbors and co-workers to walk to raise awareness and funds to fight heart disease and stroke. Walk in honor of a loved one or to celebrate the steps you are taking to live a healthier life. There is no fee to participate, but participants are encouraged to raise money to help fund life-saving research and programs in our community. 

As the American Heart Association's Signature fundraising event, the Heart Walk promotes physical activity and heart-healthy living in a fun family environment. Click here to register to walk.

JDRF One Walk - Wilmington 2018

JDRF Community One Walk is led by passionate volunteers with one goal: to create a world without type 1 diabetes (T1D). It's amazing what can happen when a community comes together to make a cure a reality—and there's no better time than the present to get started. The YMCA Diabetes Prevention Program - Available at 3 Locations

When: Tuesdays at 6:30 p.m.

When: Thursdays at 10:00 a.m.

The YMCA’s Diabetes Prevention Program is a 12-month evidence-based program designed to help those at risk of developing type 2 diabetes adopt and maintain healthy lifestyles. Research by the National Institutes of Health has shown that programs like the YMCA’s Diabetes Prevention Program can reduce the number of new cases of type 2 diabetes by 58% and 71%.
